These Terms of Use are the agreement — the end-user license agreement — between you and Fojo when you use the app. We've kept them plain. The short version: the journal is yours, the numbers are estimates, and Fojo is a companion — not a doctor.
Using Fojo
You may use Fojo for your own personal journaling. You agree not to misuse it — no breaking or probing the service, no using it to harm others, and no reselling or scraping it. You need to be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live (and at least 13).
Your account
You can begin as a guest and add an email or an Apple or Google login later; your journal stays on the same account when you do. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect someone else has access.
Your content is yours
Everything you write and log stays yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service — to store your journal, show it back to you, and send the necessary parts to the AI provider that powers the assistant (see our Privacy Policy). We claim no ownership of your journal and don't use it to train models.
Estimates, not a spreadsheet
Fojo estimates calories and nutrition from plain language, and it rounds and admits its guesses. These numbers are approximations for reflection, not precise measurements. Don't rely on them where accuracy matters medically.
Not medical advice
Fojo is a journal, not a coach, dietitian, or medical device. Nothing in the app is medical, nutritional, or health advice, and it isn't a substitute for a professional. If you have a health condition or an eating disorder, please talk to a qualified provider — and use Fojo only in a way that supports your wellbeing.
Fojo Plus — the subscription
Fojo starts with a 5-day free trial and asks for no card up front. After the trial your journal stays readable and your report stays exportable — what needs a plan is the ongoing intelligence: new logging, the evening day-story, the pattern noticing, and chat. That plan is Fojo Plus, an auto-renewing subscription.
- Fojo Plus (Monthly) — $8.99 per month, renewing monthly.
- Fojo Plus (Yearly) — $59.99 per year, renewing yearly.
Prices are in US dollars; your local price and tax may differ, and the exact amount is always shown on the plan before you buy. Purchases in the iOS app are billed by Apple and payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Purchases in the Android app work the same way through Google Play.
The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends, at the price for the plan you chose. Our 5-day trial is granted by us rather than by the store, so no payment method is taken and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time after purchase in your account settings with the store: on iOS, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Subscriptions. Canceling stops the next renewal and you keep Fojo Plus through the period you've already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. We'll never use a deceptive paywall or manufactured urgency to make you pay.
Availability & changes
We work to keep Fojo running and improving, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change over time. If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know where appropriate. Continuing to use Fojo after a change means you accept it.
The legal part
Fojo is provided “as is,”without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Fojo and its maker aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the prior twelve months. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts may not apply to you. You can stop using Fojo and delete your account at any time; we may suspend an account that violates these terms.
Where you got the app
If you downloaded Fojo from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app itself; these terms sit alongside it and describe how our service works. A few things follow from buying through a store. This agreement is between you and Fojo, not with Apple or Google, and we — not they — are responsible for the app and its content. Your license is the usual one: a personal, non-transferable right to use Fojo on devices you own or control, under the store's own usage rules. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Fojo; if you need help, write to us at the address below.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We — not Apple or Google — are responsible for handling any claim about the app, including product liability, a failure to meet legal requirements, and consumer-protection or privacy claims, and for any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm you aren't located in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a prohibited-parties list, and you agree to the store's applicable terms as well. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
